Our story
See the story behind the numbers.
Every transaction is a point of light. Together, they reveal a bigger picture.
Looking at the night sky, we first notice individual stars. As we look more closely, patterns begin to emerge.
A bank statement can feel much the same. A payment received. A supplier paid. A month of small movements. Each entry records a moment, but understanding a business means seeing how those moments connect.
That is the idea at the heart of Arecibo: looking carefully, recognising patterns, and helping the bigger picture come into view.
Behind every balance is someone building something.
The numbers in a business carry everyday meaning. Materials for a new job. Wages for a team. A first sale. Money put back into something an owner believes in.
Keeping track of those movements is part of running a business. Making sense of them should be easier.
We are building Arecibo to help small-business owners understand cash flow, see what has changed, and explore the context behind the figures. Our purpose is to make financial information more useful to the person who needs it.
A note from our founder
I'm building Arecibo because financial technology is something I care deeply about. I want to take part in shaping how it works—and how it can become more useful in everyday life.
The features we develop matter to me personally. They reflect things I would want to use myself: a clearer understanding of money coming in and going out, a way to recognise changes, and information that is easier to make sense of.
That personal interest shapes how I think about Arecibo. Every feature should have a practical purpose. It should help someone understand something that matters to them.
With Arecibo, I'm bringing that motivation to the world of small business, while learning from the owners whose needs and experiences will help shape the product.
The stars offer a simple way to describe that ambition: individual points become more meaningful when we can see how they connect. I want Arecibo to bring that same sense of discovery and clarity to financial information.
Clarity includes knowing the limits.
We believe a useful financial tool should explain what the data shows and make it clear when information is missing or an output is an estimate. Observations should be understandable. Forecasts should be presented with their limitations. Decisions should remain with the business owner.
These principles guide how we are building Arecibo and how we want to earn trust.
Help shape what comes next.
Arecibo is being developed for Canadian small businesses. We are inviting owners to explore a labeled sample-data demo and share what would make the product useful in their working day.
Our current focus is a limited pilot. Demo experiences use sample data and do not connect a bank account. Any live financial-data participation requires separate approval and permission.
The demo is a draft, pre-publication experience (sample data only). Live banking access is a separately controlled step.
